Meals are $5 per meal. A meal consists of the balanced meal, 2% milk, bread, and dessert.

Hot meals are delivered Monday through Friday, except holidays.  Frozen meals are delivered biweekly on Tuesday, unless other arrangements are made.

Weekend meals are frozen meals delivered every Wednesday.

You will be billed the middle of each month for the delivery days within the month. We ask that you receive the meals for a minimum of 5 days for $25 to start.


Please notify the Meals on Wheels office when you will not be home to accept your meal. Contact the Meals on Wheels office by noon the day before you want to cancel your meal. We will cancel your meal for the day(s) you will not be home and restart your meal when you plan to accept meals again. You can also arrange with the office to have a neighbor, to accept and hold your meal in the refrigerator until you return home.

No meal will be left unattended under any circumstances.

If you would like to terminate meal service, please call us at (904) 807-1200 at least 2 days in advance. Once service is terminated, monies for meals that have not been delivered will be refunded.

If a meal is prepared for you and/or delivery is attempted, you will be charged for the meal.

There is a $20 fee for returned checks

Delivery times are based on the current route. Meals are delivered between 10 am and 4 pm. Changes in weather, vehicle problems and other issues may delay your meal arrival. Please allow at least one (1) hour after your normal delivery time before calling the office. 

Each meal contains one third of the United States Recommended Daily Allowance (USRDA). Meal choice is limited to our need to provide proper nutrition. We cannot substitute meals items.

Urban Jacksonville, Inc. Meals on Wheels delivers meals in Duval County only.

Please tie up or confine your pet(s) when your meal arrives.

Urban Jacksonville, Inc. Meals on Wheels offers frozen or hot meals. We make every effort to deliver hot meals to our participants as requested. Some participants will only be eligible to receive frozen meals due to their location.

If the private pay participant elects to receive two (2) meals a day, one meal will be hot and one meal frozen (delivered biweekly).

The hot meal aluminum containers are not made to be heated in the oven or microwave. Please put food in the appropriate container before heating up.

When you receive your meal each day, it has been maintained at a temperature of 140 degrees or higher. This is for your safety to prevent foodbourne illness. It is important that you eat your meal immediately while warm.

If you are unable to eat your meal immediately, it is important that you promptly store it in the refrigerator until you are ready to eat the meal. Please reheat the meal to at least 165 degrees.

Frozen meals may be heated in the oven or microwave.

Frozen meals are prepackaged and come in quantities of 2, 5 or 7.

Meals are not delivered days the following holidays are observed: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King’s Birthday, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

Please report address changes immediately so we can put your meal on the appropriate route.

Our meals are well balanced, however it is important to remember to eat nutritiously at your other meals.
